I'm wearing Jerrick's necklace! ~~My sister forced him~~ He gave it to my sister when we had dinner together. He was wearing the necklace and my sister keep complimenting (more like, she cant stop raving about it) him about it. Before we parted, he decided to give it to my sister. Isn't he sweet? And to think it was the first time that we met! Plus, he's very talented! I genuinely like his designs! I do hope that he launches a collection soon, open a store and do his own fashion show. Baby steps Jerrick, baby steps! :)

I turned 21 yesterday (January 29). Oh yes, I am a year older but not a penny richer. Kidding aside, I am overwhelmed by the number of people who sent me heartwarming greetings through text, facebook and twitter. I feel so loved. Thank you!

As a birthday present to myself, I started a little online project. I made an account in jux that will serve as my online photography portfolio. I have always loved photography, though I admit I'm not good at it. I'm still learning the basics and whatnot. My plan is to post a photo everyday starting from my 21st birthday up to my 22nd birthday (January 29, 2013). It's quite a challenge since this means I have to take an interesting photo everyday and post it online. I CAN DO THIS!

Put up together by Cebu's most artistic and experimental young minds, BLANC is the unconventional probe of the Queen City's distinct chronicles on the latest in fashion, androgyny, art culture and streetsyle. It is the uncovering of Cebu's rusty side. BLANC MAGAZINE is more than an art compilation; it is a movement, an uprising, a reality.

To kick-off the Sinulog weekedn, the Blanc team officially launched it's online magazine and hosted a fashion show featuring the 17 designers to watch out for this 2012. I, together with Cebu Fashion Bloggers, was able to attend the event. Thank you to the Blanc team for having us. This is prolly the first event that CFB were almost in perfect attendance. It's nice to finally see everyone in the real world. I got to meet new faces too! Let me start this post with an apology. This post is two weeks late. I got caught up with my travel to Iloilo, Holiday rush and the flu (yeah, I got sick after Christmas) that I had no time to blog. Poor me! Moving on....

Lyka informed the rest of the Cebu Fashion Bloggers about the Mod Parade fashion show. Like the trooper that I am, I decided to go together with my sister. I arrived late that night since there was a Christmas event at school that I had to attend to. It rained pretty hard too. Anyway, I was so happy to see familiar faces at the event and that I finally got to meet Mac!

I have a thing for short hair. Whenever my hair touches my shoulder, I'm always itching to chop it all off! Funny thing is, I wanted to wear my hair long when I was a kid. My mother kept my hair short which I found irritating as a child. It was only in my teenage years that she didn't reprimand me anymore for growing my hair long. Fast forward to now and I'm currently obsessing over short hair styles. Oh well, life is full of ironies and contradictions! And I should better stop ranting about my hair! :)

this is how NAIA Terminal 3 looks like on a peak season. everybody was rushing to catch their flight! CRAZY!!

i arrived early (like almost 7 hours early) at the airport for my flight back to cebu. ~~just dont ask why~~ while there, i picked up an old habit of mine- people watching. i used to do this a lot when im alone; watching people and wondering what their stories might be (where they're going, who they're with, etc) there's nothing much to do at the airport really, especially when you're travelling alone. luckily, i brought books to accompany me.

and oh, the answer to my million-kisses question on my previous post is C. None of the above (i think only 2 got it right but i had fun reading all your guess!). i was there for a meeting. it was all business, no time for pleasure. ~~how i wish i went there for BEP concert or PFW.~~

p.s my flight was delayed. so yeah i stayed at the airport for more than 8 hours for a local flight. good thing there were cute kids across me. can i bring them home? pwede na silang pasalubong! :)

A bunch of guys spreading the awesomeness that is Cebu: that basically describes Jeremie Lim, Jason Almendras and Carlo Villarica, the amazing trio behind a popular Cebuano website.

“We like to think of ourselves as an online magazine. We show what is cool in Cebu. This little island of ours has so much to offer,” said Villarica.

The website dubbed as ZeroThreeTwo.com, has been online since January of this year.

The website offers a wide array of topics – clothing lines, bands, artists, photographers, fashion designers, food, travel, charities and events.

Villarica said that they don’t have a problem getting topics for the website and that they are fortunate that people like reading the content.

“Of course, none of this would be possible without the blogging community. Through the site, we’ve met plenty of writers, photographers and bloggers. They’ve all helped by contributing content. In fact, we regularly ask people to email us if they are interested in writing,” shares Villarica.

The website carries the name, “ZeroThreeTwo”, for a reason. It is the area code for Cebu. The trio had an idea what the name and the brand needed to convey. The aim was to have a name that isn’t too obvious and it has to be cool. Also, the group made sure that the domain was still available.

Less than a year in operation, they have found their niche in the blogging scene and established a solid base of regular readers, with over 5,400 facebook likes, more than a thousand Twitter followers and over a triple-digit hits per day. They have also branched out through their sold-out merchandise – a proof that they have successfully infiltrated Cebuano pop culture.

“We hope to one day become everyone’s main source of finding cool stuff in Cebu,” states Villarica.

Last October 14, Globe held an Awards Night for their Brand Ambassadors. The Globe Brand Ambassadors are achievers from different universities in Cebu - students who are excellent in the field o academics, athletics, culture and the arts, public service and entrepreneurship. The top three ambassadors per school receives the sponsorship package for their chosen organization or charity.

Yours truly was one of the Brand Ambassadors for UP Cebu. And thanks to my competitive/supportive family and friends who campaigned for me, I was part of the top three. My chosen organization is Nagkahiusang Kusog sa Estudyante, a political and mass organization in our school. Check out my 'big cheque' moment!

Honestly, Im not a Globe user until I became one of their brand ambassador. I have to admit, I had a wrong perception about the brand. For one, I thought Globe is really expensive but they actually have affordable rates. Also, Globe really is the nation-widest service provider. Now I can travel anywhere in the country without having to worry about signal. Plus, most of my friends outside Cebu are Globe users. So yeah, thank you Globe! :)

there are two cebuano photographers that i personally know and secretly (not a secret anymore!) idolize, one is the humanizer and the other one is banawe. i already told you about the humanizer in my posts here and here. so for this entry, lemme tell you something about banawe. we actually went to the same school together. i seldom see her (she was a senior then) but when i do i always am in awe. why? cause she's a cool girl and she has character. she's a bit shy but when she speaks, boy she has substance! also, i remember taking mental notes of her looks since were the same height and body type. ~~im weird like that!~~ she's not just fashionable, she's got style! and oh, we kinda have the same taste in music too. what i really ~~like~~ LOVE about her is her skill in taking AWESOME photos. her images are always natural and effortless. im not bluffing! here's the proof:

as the whole world was watching the royal wedding, i was out having dinner with my sister and some friends to 'surprise' my cousin jak on her late birthday celebration. turns out, we were as surprised as she was as there were some minor glitches in the plan. nevertheless, we had a great time! after the super yummy dinner (photos on my next post!), we watched Thor in imax. i like the film, it tells you something about leadership and humility. ~~and those abs dont hurt either!~~

this midi skirt is actually three layers of satin, tulle and sheer. so its like a cross between a maxi skirt and a tutu. SCORE!! i know the hemline is a bit unforgiving for my petite (read: short) figure, but i LIKE it!

oh yeah, my blog title says it all!

i know ive been a delinquent blogger. february was a hectic month for me. ive been too busy with the election season in our school. the campaign period was crazy! my days were longer than usual and i go directly to bed when i get home. thats how tiresome it was! im not going to tell you all the details except that i ran as the standard bearer for my party and we won 10 out of 12 seats. ~~10-2 twice in a row baby!~~ my student council life could pretty much equate as my college life. (freshman = freshman rep, sophomore = USC rep, junior = Chairperson)

and then March came and boy, it was crazier! school requirements were tougher and more time-consuming. ~~then we launched another campaign which was more hardcore.~~ then my body was getting weird cause i was always hungry and was always sleepy. so yeah, i got too caught up with my life that i was not given the luxury to pause and blog about it.

it wasnt all that bad. the good thing is, i got to think about other things. ill tell you more about this on another post. for today, im just too happy to be back! :)

i decided to wear something red since its my favorite color and its my birthday. theres just something about red and birthdays! we had dinner at Cul-de-sac, a quaint little place located inside a posh village. we were supposed to have our Christmas dinner there but it was close at that time. how apt that i was able to finally dine there on my birthday! i love how the place is so intimate, it really has a nice cozy ambiance. most importantly, they serve really good food with an affordable price. its prolly my second favorite resto in the metro! ~~the only 'bad thing' about this resto is that they close early, but hey you can always go there earlier!~~ after dinner, we had coffee at Seattle Best. i sure did have fun on my birthday!

the weather has been crazy lately. one day its raining, then the following morning its sunny. ~~weather update brought to you by climate change!~~ i do love the cold weather, it gives me a reason to wear blazers, cardigans, sweaters and the likes that ive been itching to wear. and so, to match the weathers unpredictable-ness, i wore a floral romper (summer calling?) and blazer to school. and no, i didn't wear those wedges to school (theyre too flashy!), i just wore them for the photos. =)

christmas day - we had dinner at maya. before i tell you who i was with, let us first talk about the resto and the food. as the title suggests, we had bitten off more than what we can chew (in a good way though). the place is cozy and upscale ~~and their lighting didnt hurt my eyes!~~ ~~alhough i was a bit distracted by the masks they used as decors. it kinda gave me the voodoo vibe.~~ you gotta love their big door! what i love most about the resto was their service. i swear they have the friendliest and most 'maasikaso' servers in the world! ~~heck, i think they'd die on the spot if you asked them to! okay, sorry for the comparison. its just the first thing that came to mind.~~ and oh, their food is superb! they serve in generous amounts and every bite tastes like heaven! okay okay, before i get carried away lets just let the pictures do the talking.

see what i mean? and the only downside about the resto is the price. their food is a bit pricey (read: really expensive) for a middle-class girl like me. oh well, we didnt just paid for the food. we paid for the experience. CHOS!! :)

11/20/10 - my sister and i watched gin blossoms concert in the pacific ballroom of the waterfront hotel. our tickets were sponsored by my uncle, who also paid for our plane ticket in the paramore concert. thank you uncle! so im not really a big gin blossom fan (heck, i dont even know their names!), but i do know some of their songs. now, i know why they were so popular back in the 90's! :)

do pardon the pictures! methinks the gin blossom concert was the nearest i could get to the stage. we entered the room through the silver entrance, but we left through the gold exit. cool upgrade eh? ~~although we had gold tickets in the paramore concert, we were still a bit far from the stage because we came Late. ;)~~ and oh, my sister and i had a photo with the vocalist (robin wilson). btw, the security personnel took our photo. ftw! ~~pardon my crappy face.~~

one random November night, the saLinas kids (my sister, her friend, my cousin and I) went out to have dinner at this not-so fancy restaurant with a fancy price. i Love the ambience and feeL of the resto, just not a big fan of their Lighting (since it hurt my eyes and it made me dizzy). they serve good food, just a bit too pricey for my taste. and oh, their service water sucks! :)

I know a place where anxiety is non-existent. It is nature at its real definition. There is a meadow in the heart of a thick forest. It is an endless landscape of grass with a variety of flora surrounding it. I can get a whiff of the green earth when the cool, steady wind touches my face. The dampness of the ground complements the ray of sunshine reaching my skin. The shade from the canopy shields me when I go into the forest. The moss-covered woods are slippery. The trees are hard and rough. The barks emit fresh saps when peeled. Not too far from the meadow, I can stumble on a flowing river. The cool water streams endlessly. The pebbles found around it are smooth. The current relaxes my tired muscles if I go in for a dip. This is the place where I can find serenity, my own Neverland.

this photo was taken the day i took my econ11 final exam (which was my last exam for the semester) and when we staged our Lit3 pLay ('Sa Ngalan ng Ama'). the econ11 exam was relatively easy. i had some mental lapses, but im pretty sure i passed it. our Lit3 play was good even though my group won just one award (best actor). anyway, i was happy with the results since its not easy staging a play with just one week to prepare ~~and your finals week at that~~! i was our groups director btw. it wasnt an easy experience. and i must admit, i didnt really give my all. there were some things that i could have done to make our play more dramatic and more presentable. oh well, charge it to experience as they say.

Miguel: Sira na ang moog ng military, Ama. Wala na ang dating hukbong militar na tagapagtanggol ng inaapi, tagapagligtas ng sambayanan. Kayo na ang kalaban, Ama! <- my most favorite line of the play.

a little trivia: when i was in fourth year high school, my classmates picked me to direct our class production ~~which was also our fourth grading final exam~~. unfortunately, the one assigned to be the lead female character backed out and so i decided to play her role instead. our Lit3 play was the first time that i directed a play. i must say, it entails a lot of work but its more fulfilling. (:

Likewise, just because you wear nice cLothes, it doesnt mean you're a bitch/rich or something. just because you've been photographed using a dsLr, it doesnt mean that youre a modeL. styLe cant be taught. its not something that you copy from a magazine editoriaL or from whatever website you found in the internet. fashion is supposed to be an expression, an extension of yourseLf. it is an art wherein your wardrobe is your canvas. :)

team gwapa vs team sexy!

yesterday (10/08/10, friday) was our Last PE2 Soccer (women) meeting. yesterday was our Last tournament. boo! the cLass was divided into two groups - team gwapa and team sexy. (im one of team gwapa's defenders, btw) we pLayed one game (10-aside), 20 minutes per haLf. on the first haLf, my team scored. yay! on the Last 20 seconds of the game, team sexy aLso scored. i ~~found myseLf reaLLy dumbfounded. Like heLLo 20 seconds na Lng yung natitira sa game cLock tapos nakascore pa yung kaLaban ninyo. tapos defender ka pa so pagkukuLang mo taLaga.~~ (Lesson Learned: the onLy time to reLax in a game is when the finaL whistLe is bLown and after you have been decLared winners.) after forty grueLing Long minutes onto the game, the score was 1-1. bummer eh? but then again, we were taught weLL by our teacher thats why we were good(?) both in offense and defense. to break the tie, we went into the dreaded penaLty shootout. (i say dreaded because i dont trust my kick. besides, winning via shootout is not as sweet as winning in a game. teehee!) everybody got a chance to kick. team sexy was successfuL in kicking a baLL right to the goaL. so the score reads 2-1, in favor of team sexy. when it was my turn to kick, i was pretty sure it wouLdnt go in. i was reminded of my performance of our practicaL exam the week before which was beLow par. when i kicked the baLL, i was taken aback cause i kicked it wrongLy. i knew it wouLdnt go in. but Lo and behoLd, it went in! it took me seconds to register that i made a goaL. it was dusk aLready (pLus the sky was gLoomy as it drizzLed during our game) so i couLdnt see the baLL cLearLy. the cheers of my teammates confirmed that i did score a goaL. you schouLd have seen my reaction! i shrieked (not shouted) in my most girLy way. ~~i totes forgot that im baby boy.~~ it was EPIC! finaL score, 2-2. :)))

so these are our pictures from our game. now, arent we HOT? haha, jk! i asked my sister to take some pictures during the game, but since it drizzLed she had to stay in the shade. boo! anyway, it was nice of her to come and watch me pLay. thanks bitch! and oh, yesterday i aLso found out that my other sister (eLdest) pLayed soccer when she was stiLL in eLementary. cooL eh? its in the genes! haha! :)))
